Raven Manual - String Matching and Regular Expressions

Raven provides some basic string pattern matching words: match, split, replace and find. These words will use simple string scanning routines to search for exact pattern matches within their subject text.

Raven also provide Perl compatible regular expressions (PCRE) access with the words: m//, s//, f// and r///.

• Normal pattern matching is simplistic yet quite fast.
• Regular Expressions offer flexibilty while being slower.
